| Outside Contract of Distribution Work |

Torii Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.("Torii"; Head
Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo. President: Norihiko Matsuo) has today (30 Jan. 2004) agreed
with Mitsubishi Logistics Corporation. ("MLC"; Head Office:
Chuo-ku, Tokyo. President: Naoshi Ban) to the arrangement that Torii will entirely
contract distribution work related to Torii's pharmaceutical products with
MLC.
Torii's two distribution centers, one in Sakura, Chiba Prefecture, and the
other, in Ibaragi, Osaka Prefecture, will be transferred to the distribution centers
(Yashio, Saitama Prefecture, and Ibaragi, Osaka Prefecture) owned and operated
by MLC. Taking this opportunity, Torii will contract to MLC all the work of receipt
and storage of Torii's pharmaceutical products and their distribution to
the wholesalers.
This contract arrangement will enable Torii to avoid new expenditure for facilities,
reduce distribution cost, and to improve the distribution service through,e.g.
shortening of lead-time for distribution. |
