Torii Pharmaceutical to Launch Antifungal Agent for External Use,
"ZEFNART SOLUTION 2%", in Japan |

Torii Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. announced today that the company launched an antifungal agent for external use, "ZEFNART SOLUTION 2% (generic name: liranaftate)" on July 6, 2007 for which Zenyaku Kogyo Co., Ltd. obtained a manufacturing and marketing approval on February 6, 2007 as an additional dosage form of a commercially available antifungal agent for external use, "ZEFNART CREAM 2% ."
"ZEFNART" is the first antifungal agent for external use for once-daily application among thiocarbamate agents. It provides fungicidal effect against tinea and excellent retention on the skin.
We expect that the addition of the present preparation to the commercially available "ZEFNART CREAM 2%" will widen therapeutic options.
We will continue to provide better medicines to contribute to patient quality of life.
